Looking at the iconographic form of genever glasses leads to questioning what similarity it really is, that makes them similar to each other. The outside curve of the tulip shape can be distinguished as the common feature. Though this curve comes in various executions, it becomes the very notion of the genever glass.
Using the generic outside curve of a genever glass in a modular mould setup, it is possible to manufacture various different glasses, starting with a high resolution (many curves), that is close to the known shape of a tulip glass, proceeding to a lower resolution (less curves) and consequently more freely constituted surface. During Dutch Design Week 2018, the glasses where blown live in the exhibition by master glass blower Gert Bulée.
